Last week 15 students from a middle school in Goesan, South of Seoul, South Korea visited our school, accompanied by tutors and representatives from South Korean municipalities. They were warmly welcomed in the castle, where they thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the Gobelin Room. Our students from grades 9 and 10 welcomed the group and then gave them a tour of the estate in small groups.
The programme also included an informative exchange on climate change, thanks to Mr. Ydo Jousma. In addition, a few South Korean students gave a presentation in English. The event provided our Grade 11 students who participated with a valuable opportunity to contribute their work to their CAS portfolios (Creativity, Activity, Service).
It was fantastic to see how open and engaged the groups were with each other, particularly during a friendly football match, which ended in a draw, and while decorating small gift bags. The facilities team provided delicious snacks and a delightful lunch. After a lovely, productive morning, we bid farewell to the students around 2 PM.
