Eerde Students Host Halloween Market for a Great Cause.

For the third consecutive year, our IB1 Economics students are organizing the Halloween Market as part of our Halloween celebration. Traditionally, students have sold Halloween-themed treats like cookies, pastries, and drinks. Although they’re not allowed to cook or bake in the school kitchen, they’ll take on the role of retailers, sourcing treats from local shops and reselling them at a markup to generate profit.

All proceeds from the Halloween Market will be donated to Eerde’s school charity, with students proudly presenting the funds to the Eerde team. This year, our Grade 10 Business students have joined forces with the IB1 Economics students, making this an exciting, hands-on project that combines marketing and economics to support the Halloween Market.

Through this collaboration, Grade 10 students are focusing on marketing and promotion, designing effective strategies such as social media campaigns, posters, and other promotional materials. This offers them valuable, real-world experience in branding and communication. Meanwhile, the IB1 Economics students are analyzing market dynamics, budgeting, and exploring consumer behavior, providing essential insights to help make the Halloween Market a success.

Together, both groups are applying their knowledge to real-world tasks, deepening their learning through this interdisciplinary project that blends business and economic principles. This partnership not only enhances their understanding of each field but also builds essential teamwork and project management skills valuable assets for any future business endeavor.

With the festive costumes and Halloween spirit, it’s been a fantastic blend of fun and learning for all involved!
