On Tuesday, November 12th, Eerde International School came alive with vibrant festivities as we celebrated Diwali 2024. The day was filled with colorful activities that highlighted the spirit of unity in diversity.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly, where a presentation introduced the school community to the rich cultural significance of Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights.
During the morning break, students delighted in traditional Indian snacks and sweets, adding to the festive atmosphere. Later, during the afternoon break, students immersed themselves further in Indian culture by exploring intricate mehndi designs and wearing decorative bindis.
The highlight of the day was the Rangoli House Competition. Each of the four houses—Preparation, Perseverance, Diversity, and Integrity—designed stunning rangoli patterns inspired by their house animals: the wolf, horse, bee, and owl, respectively.
House Diversity’s breathtaking rangoli earned them first place and 15 points, while House Perseverance came in second with 10 points. Houses Preparation and Integrity tied for third place, each earning 5 points.
Diwali 2024 at Eerde was truly a memorable celebration, showcasing our commitment to embracing cultural diversity.
