On Wednesday February 12, the annual inter-house chess tournament took place, delivering six thrilling games filled with excitement, joy, and passion. House Integrity finished in last place, with their only half-point coming from Jenna, who fought hard for a draw in an intense match against Kuzey—the only draw of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Angelo and Giel made up for Kuzey’s draw by securing victories for their house, ultimately leading House Preparation to claim first place. Marino and Mr. Pieter dominated their games against Hangu and Amir, swiftly checkmating them within minutes. Their decisive wins earned House Perseverance two crucial points, securing them second place.
For House Diversity, the only point came from Mr. Boris’ victory over Mr. Tom. Their match lasted nearly 15 minutes, with Mr. Boris maintaining control throughout before sealing a well-deserved win in the final moments.
Every house fought until the end and gave their very best. However, there can only be one winner, and this time, it was House Preparation.
