In History this term, our Grade 6/7 students have been diving deep into the complex and fascinating topic of The Cold War. We’ve explored the key causes, major players, and pivotal events that led to its emergence, as well as how tensions between world powers shaped global politics after WWII.

Through a variety of activities; debates, dilemma cards, investigative research, and student-led presentations, the students have shown growing curiosity and strong engagement. One particularly outstanding presentation came from Heri, who demonstrated excellent dedication and insight while exploring the aftermath of the atomic bomb. His research focused on the deeper motivations behind the bomb’s use: Was it solely to end the war with Japan? Or was it also a show of power to the Soviet Union at the dawn of the Cold War? Or to show their power to the whole world? Using the dilemma card “What would you do as Truman?”, Heri led a thoughtful analysis of the consequences of such a monumental decision. His presentation stood out for its depth, critical thinking, and historical understanding. Well done, Heri!

We’re proud of the entire IMYC class for their enthusiasm and thoughtful contributions, especially during class debates and dilemmas. Keep up the great work, everyone; your motivation and open-minded approach to history is inspiring!
